THE WESTERLY FIRE DISTRICT HAS NO TAX SALE SCHEDULED FOR 2023
PLEASE BE ADVISED ANYONE WHO RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM ROCKET MORTGAGE ABOUT THEIR ESCROW PAYMENTS: 2023 TAXES WERE PAID BUT THEY WILL NO LONGER BE MAKING FIRE DISTRICT TAX PAYMENTS. WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE 2024 STATEMENT AND GOING FORWARD, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THE PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE FIRE DISTRICT.

The 2024 Fire District Tax Statements will be mailed late October/early November and are due by November 30th.

Structure Fire - 9 Batterson Ave

Around 0526 on Friday, July 26, 2024, Westerly Dispatch received a call of a possible structure fire at 9 Batterson Ave. Westerly Police arrived shortly thereafter confirming a fire in the building and successfully evacuated the residence. Chief Mackay declared a first alarm and crews quickly deployed a 1 3/4" handline for an internal attack.

Join us in congratulating Assistant Chief Fusaro who was honored by the Westerly Historical Society this evening for his efforts in preserving the history of the Westerly Fire Department. He received the “Julia Award,” named after the society's founder from 1913. Joe was unanimously chosen for this prestigious award by the Executive Board.

Person Found in Pawcatuck River Following Intensive Search

Around 7:15 PM on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, Westerly Fire, Pawcatuck Fire, Westerly Police, Stonington Police, and Westerly Ambulance responded to a call about a person in the river near 99 Main Street. Westerly Fire Marine 30 and Pawcatuck Fire Marine 1 were promptly launched to search the riverbanks along the Pawcatuck River, accompanied by a drone.
