During the Westerly Fire District Annual meeting held on August 30, 2023, several notable acknowledgments were made:

Joseph Potter concluded his remarkable 34-year tenure as Moderator. A lifelong resident of Westerly, Joe has consistently dedicated his time to the betterment of the community. Among his notable achievements are his status as a Life Member of the Cyclone Steam Fire Engine Company No. 2 and his longstanding role as Chair of the Columbus Day Parade Committee.

In addition, the meeting included the presence of family members representing Richard Mansfield, who received a commemorative plaque in honor of his 22 years of dedicated service as District Clerk. It is with deep sadness that we note Richard's passing on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

We extend our congratulations to Gary Mansfield and Mary Ellen Buckley both of whom have officially assumed their roles as the new Moderator and Clerk, respectively, for The Westerly Fire District.
