Structure Fire - 92 Watch Hill Rd |

At 9:56 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, Westerly Dispatch received a report from a passerby about an audible fire alarm at The Cooked Goose, located at 92 Watch Hill Road. Westerly Police arrived shortly after and confirmed there was an active fire in the building. Engine 3 arrived at 10:04 PM, with their crew deploying a 1 3/4” handline for an interior attack, while Ladder 1’s crew successfully ventilated the roof. Engine 4 secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant and extended an additional 1 3/4” handline. An engine from Pawcatuck was requested to provide additional manpower. The fire was brought under control within roughly an hour, and volunteers remained on the scene for several hours mopping up and checking for any fire extension. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office. Thank you to Providence Canteen for responding and providing refreshments. Crews cleared the scene at 1:52 AM. |
