The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce proudly announces Jamie Silvestri as the 2024 Person of the Year. This prestigious recognition celebrates Jamie's enduring dedication and remarkable contributions to the community, including his longstanding service with the Westerly Fire Department. Jamie joined the Westerly Fire Department on August 11, 1983, and has since devoted over four decades to protecting and serving the community. Throughout his tenure, Jamie has taken on numerous roles within the department, demonstrating exceptional leadership, commitment, and a tireless spirit of volunteerism. His unwavering dedication to public safety and community well-being has left a profound impact on countless lives in Westerly. In addition to his firefighting duties, Jamie has been actively involved in various community initiatives, reflecting a deep-seated commitment to improving the lives of those around him. His service extends beyond emergency response, encompassing a wide array of volunteer activities and support for local causes. The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize Jamie Silvestri’s exceptional service and contributions. His steadfast commitment to the betterment of the community epitomizes the values of leadership and selflessness that the Person of the Year award seeks to celebrate.
